PS3 Hybrid Firmware (HFW)
With PS3 HFW 4.90.1, a downgrade of the PS3 can be performed using the Flash Writer.
This can be helpful if the PS3 Toolset by bguerville is offline.
HFW 4.90.1 - [March 2023]
The HFW can be installed as an update to an already installed original firmware (OFW) version 4.90.

- Installation via FAT-32 USB stick and XMB (recovery menu not required)
The installation of the HFW
If you are running original firmware version 4.90, you can easily install this HFW using a USB stick (FAT-32) via the XMB. The recovery menu is not necessary for this.
To avoid errors, you should definitely install OFW 4.90 before installing this HFW, if you haven't already done so. Download here: PS3 Developer Wiki
However, if you have an original firmware version higher than 4.90 installed, you cannot install this version and must perform a downgrade using the PS3 Toolset.
